UK paedophile sues for unfair dismissal

A paedophile, sacked by a Christian publishing company after his conviction for abusing a four-year-old girl, is now suing his former employer for unfair dismissal.

The Telegraph reports the claim by Geoffrey Moore, whose case will be heard by an employment tribunal next month, was described as ‘absurd’ by a children\'s charity. However, the Department of Trade and Industry said it was important that all employees had the opportunity to have their claims heard. When Moore, who was given a community rehabilitation sentence, was arrested in November, he was allowed to keep his job. Instead he agreed to resign if he was sent to jail, but was sacked after the details of his offences were revealed. Full report in The Telegraph
