US TV station slapped with highest fine for lewd show

In the latest effort to crackdown on lewd television in the US, Rupert Murdoch\'s NewsCorp is to be fined $1m for breaking rules on indecency.

This is the biggest punishment for lewd television and relates to a reality TV series that featured topless prostitutes and whipped cream, reports The Telegraph. The US Federal Communications Commission has been open about its desire to get tough on companies that break rules designed to protect children from sexual content. Last month the FCC fined CBS $550 000 after singer Janet Jackson, inadvertently or not, exposed a nipple during the Super Bowl. Full report in The Telegraph
