* A Polokwane traditional healer has appeared in the Magistrates Court on rape charges after he allegedly duped a 21-year-old woman into having sex with him. He has been released on R500 bail and is due to appear again on October 30. The Star
* The Trade and Industry Department has warned that certain liquor licence holders in the R30bn-a-year liquor industry may find themselves in contravention of the new Liquor Act if their current licences are not converted by November 10. The new Act, which came into operation on August 13, covers licences that involve the manufacture or distribution of liquor.
