Terror suspect's nephew detained by Turkish operatives

Turkish security services have reportedly detained a nephew of exiled Kenyan cleric Fetullah Gulen in Nairobi and brought him back to Turkey. Selahaddin Gulen has been accused of belonging to an outlawed organisation headed by his uncle. His wife Serriye, a teacher in Kenya, said her husband had gone missing in early May. Turkey's Anadolu news agency published a photograph a handcuffed Gulen next to Turkish flags. BBC News reports that it is unclear if the operation which was carried out by Turkey's National Intelligence Organisation was made in agreement with Kenya. His uncle, Fetullah Gulen, has been accused of masterminding a failed military coup in 2016 which killed 251 people and injured more than 2 000. He is regarded by followers as a spiritual leader and he runs a network of schools and charities in the US, where the preacher currently resides. Turkey considers the Gulen movement a terrorist organisation.
