Four people have appeared in court over allegations that they lured three children from Lesotho and trafficked them to SA, where they were sexually abused. News24 reports that Lesotho national Sehlomeng Labane allegedly lured underage girls to sleep with her ‘rich’ boyfriend, Mpho Ramonotsi, after being told by him that she was too old. Ramonotsi, Labane, Nyatso Mokete and Mamanyesemane Thoabala last week appeared in Maseru Magistrate's Court, facing human trafficking charges. Magistrate Matankiso Nthunya noted that the four accused failed to raise the required R50 000 bail and they were remanded in custody. Beleme Moerane, from the Lesotho Mounted Police Service, said the victims were children from poor families.
