Twelve members of the Zimbabwe Prison Services, who were accused of assaulting some of the suspected 67 mercenaries imprisoned at Chikurubi prison in Harare, have had charges against them withdrawn.
The Herald reports the 12 are not off the hook yet as the matter will proceed by way of summons whenever the State is ready to prosecute them. Sixty-two of the mercenaries have since been released from prison after they completed their prison terms last month and their leader, Briton Simon Francis Mann, and two pilots remained to complete their term.
