* The 29 platinum miners charged with public violence during a pay strike were released on free bail by the Rustenburg Magistrates Court yesterday, North West police said. The case was postponed to November 30. Finance24 * A policeman, Isa Mustapha Mohamed, has appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on charges of killing police captain Carrim Alli. Alli died in hospital after suffering severe burns in his car. Mohameds case was postponed to October 12 for further investigation and bail proceedings. The Herald * The Department of Foreign Affairs says it has gained consular access to two SA citizens, Feroze Ganchi and Zubair Ismail, who are being held in Pakistan because of alleged links to al-Qaeda. The pair was in good health, said department spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa. News24 * A company manager has appeared in the Springs Magistrates Court charged for allegedly possessing child pornography following a two-month investigation by his companys IT department. The 46-year-old suspect was released on R2 000 bail. He will return to court on November 25. The Herald
