A South African woman pleaded guilty in Houston yesterday to immigration charges in a case that raised terrorist entry concerns.
A report on the News24 site says Farida Goolam Mahomed Ahmed (48), of Johannesburg, pleaded guilty to illegally entering the US, making false statements to a federal agent and using an altered passport. Ahmed will remain in custody until sentencing on January 10. She faces up to six months in prison for illegally entering the country, up to five years for lying to a federal agent and up to 10 years for altering her passport. Full report on the News24 site
