Tanzanian authorities say they have arrested five schoolgirls so they can help with information on the men who impregnated them. Police spokesperson Sebastian Waryuba said the authorities planned to question two other teens in the Tandahimba district on the Mozambique border. In terms of Tanzanian legislation, the men could face 30 years in prison. Sky News reports that a law was passed in 2002 which allows schools to expel pregnant students. President John Magufuli came under fire last year for warning schoolgirls that ‘after getting pregnant, you are done’.
