NZ asks Zimbabwe to release Bennett

New Zealand\'s Foreign Minister, Phil Goff, has written to the Zimbabwean Government urging it to release opposition MP Roy Bennett, who has been jailed for a year with hard labour for pushing a minister during a parliamentary debate.

The New Zealand Herald quotes Goff as saying Bennett\'s sentence was harsh and raised concerns the Zimbabwe Government was trying to stifle and intimidate opposition politicians. Full report in the New Zealand Herald
