Documents relating to the investigation of charges of attempted murder, fraud and defeating the ends of justice against Ekurhuleni Metro Police Chief Robert McBride were among those stolen during a robbery at the Johannesburg High Court, says a report in The Mercury.
The NPA yesterday confirmed that the dockets relating to McBride were among those stolen from senior NPA Advocate Deon van Wyks office during a daring raid in the court house on Sunday night. The documents refer to several case dockets .This is not part of the Pretoria drunken driving trial. These are separate incidents we are investigating, said Director of Public Prosecutions for the Witwatersrand, Charin de Beer. Full report in The Mercury (subscription needed)
