Lawyers representing Nigerian singer Oladapo Oyebanjo are protesting over her arrest last week. Seyitan Babatayo earlier this month laid charges against the musician, claiming he raped her in a Lagos hotel two years ago. BBC News reports that Oyebanjo’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, said he has warned Babatayo that he will sue her if the charges are not dropped. It is unclear why Babatayo was arrested. Governors from Nigeria’s 36 states last week launched a state of emergency over the rape crisis in the country.
