Mum concerned at delay to daughter’s murder trial

A mother has expressed dismay at the Pretoria High Court’s decision to delay the trial of a man accused of murdering her daughter.

Daniël van der Walt’s (30) trial was postponed to May 12 as there is no space on the criminal roll for his trial. Van der Walt is accused of murdering Marlene Mauer on February 10 last year – just a day after she started working for his business ICC Cubes – by allegedly hitting and strangling her during an argument, says a report on the IoL site.
