Nestled on a mountain in the exclusive Umwinsidale suburb on the outskirts of Harare’s north-eastern periphery, a mansion owned by former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s son-in-law Simba Chikore and his wife Bona is immersed in scenic surroundings. City Press reports that a source at the Mugabes’ Blue Roof family home in nearby Borrowdale said Mugabe had pledged to fund the project before he died. While it is not clear how much the former President was worth at the time of his death in September 2019, his account at CBZ Bank held $10m which was part of his estate.
