Mozambique President’s son may face murder charges

The Mozambican Public Prosecutor\'s office intends to draw up a provisional charge sheet against businessman Nyimpine Chissano, oldest son of former President Joaquim Chissano, in connection with the November 2000 murder of the country\'s top investigative journalist, Carlos Cardoso, Agencia de Informacao de Mocambique quotes the weekly paper Zambeze as saying.

One of the six people jailed for the murder testified during the trial he had paid the equivalent of US$46 000 to Anibal dos Santos Junior, the leader of the death squad, at the request of Nyimpine Chissano. Full report by Agencia de Informacao de Mocambique
