* Five KwaZulu-Natal municipal managers have been told to repay more than R7m embezzled during their terms of office. Local government department head Zandile Nyandu said the five would have to recover the money or face court applications for recovery. The municipalities are Okhahlamba (Bergville), Greater Kokstad, Umtshezi (Estcourt), Nqutu (near Dundee) and Mooi Mpofana. – News24

* A US federal judge has postponed approval of a proposed $195m settlement between the accounting firm KPMG and tax shelter investors, giving the two sides time to renegotiate the deal. – The New York Times * The Zimbabwe High Court has ruled that Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe, publishers of the banned newspapers, The Daily News and The Daily News on Sunday, can now have its application for registration with the Media and Information Commission considered afresh, almost seven months after the commission denied the company registration. – The Herald * The London High Court has ruled in favour of a journalist fighting to protect his sources for an article about the Moors murderer Ian Brady\'s hospital hunger strike. A high security hospital had sought to have the source revealed. – The Guardian
