* A man who was attacked in his home fought back and ended up killing one of his attackers, police said yesterday.He was arrested and would appear in a KwaZulu-Natal court today (Thursday), said Sergeant Sumay van Zyl. It was self-defence, but it was also unnecessary force. It is now up to the court to decide if it was murder, she said. IoL
* The parents of an 11-year-old girl have been remanded in custody until January 5 after appearing in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on charges of rape and defeating the ends of justice.
