Partners at Durban law firm Meumann White had defiantly continued offering 'sweeteners' to mortgage originators and estate agents to secure conveyancing work, in spite of repeated cautions from the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society that they were breaking touting rules.

The lawyers whose professions are on the line are Maria Davey, Robert Finlay, Bruce Forrest, Richard Grant, Angela Ness-Harvey and Robert White. They are adamant that they have done nothing wrong and only embarked on a legitimate marketing, promotion and advertising campaign. Full report in The Mercury (subscription needed)
