* High court judges in Pietermaritzburg are expected to give a ruling today in a case in which the Society of Advocates of KwaZulu-Natal has applied to have Stephanus ‘Fanie’ Slabbert struck off the roll of advocates. Judge Jan Hugo, sitting with Judge Gregory Kruger, hopes to announce their findings today. – The Mercury

* The Law Society of South Africa will hand over its report on human rights compliances in the living conditions of prisoners to the Department of Correctional Services and the Inspecting Judge of Prisons, Judge Hannes Fagan tomorrow (Friday).
