The Bellville Magistrates’ Court yesterday authorised an arrest warrant for Mncedisi Eric Maluleka (32) of Soweto for failing to appear in court where he is accused of joking about hijacking while aboard a Kulula.com aircraft.

However, at advocate Elton van Rooyen’s request, the warrant for Maluleka\'s arrest is being held over until May 16, when Maluleka is scheduled to appear in court again, says a report on the IoL site. It is alleged that, as a passenger on a flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg, he asked flight staff: ‘What will you do if me and my friend hijack this plane?’ The remark caused the aircraft to turn back to Cape Town, where Maluleka was arrested. Maluleka faces a charge under the Aviation Act, for allegedly jeopardising the operation, safety, good order and discipline on the flight. Maluleka\'s bail was extended. Full report on IoL site
