Goniwe maintenance case postponed

The Bedford Maintenance Court in the Eastern Cape has postponed to March 13 the maintenance case of axed ANC Chief Whip Mbulelo Goniwe.

Magistrate Sean Murphy postponed the case, pending a review of the finances of Goniwe and high school teacher and former UDF activist Zoliswa Makubalo, notes the Cape Argus. Goniwe’s attorney, Frans Smit, said Goniwe\'s changed financial circumstances would play a role. ‘The severity of the sanction imposed by the ANC will only be made known in the first week of March and will have an effect on his financial position,’ Smit said.
