GM interdicts competitor

General Motors has obtained a High Court order restraining the Toits Motor Group from marketing and selling right-hand drive conversions of the Hummer H2 vehicle in SA, notes Business Report.

The order was unopposed after GM and its local subsidiary GMSA reached a settlement with Toits. The order restrains Toits from infringing GM’s trademarks or any reproduction, imitations or translations of them in the course of trading. However, Toits is entitled to sell the two Hummer H2s in its possession, according to Johan van Deventer, its attorney. Full report in Business Report
