* Banks have resorted to freezing the accounts of clients who have not met the October 31 deadline to verify their details, as required in terms of the new Financial Centre Intelligence Act. Banks reported that the turnout in time for the deadline was in the region of 50% only. – Moneyweb

* SA did not have an extradition agreement with Haiti and would not extradite that country\'s ousted President, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, even if an international warrant of arrest existed, according to Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepe. – Rapport * The case against two men charged with violating weapons of mass destruction laws has been postponed until February 25 next year for further investigation. The two men were earlier denied bail in the Vanderbijlpark Regional Court, but successfully appealed the decision in the Pretoria High Court. – SABC News * The Durban High Court has convicted and sentenced Dinesh Hunsraj and his two co-accused, Simphiwe Gumede (21), and Mthuthuzeli Mfenqa (39), to life imprisonment, for the killing of Hunsraj\'s brother Raymond and an attack on his wife. – Independent on Saturday * The case against Gerhard Wisser and Daniel Geiges, charged with violating weapons of mass destruction laws, has been postponed until next year. The two men were earlier denied bail in the Vanderbijlpark Regional Court, but successfully appealed the decision in the Pretoria High Court.
