* Nokwanda Ngombane, the wife of murdered Free State official Noby Ngombane and two other women will appear in the Bloemfontein District Court today (Monday) in connection with his murder. A brother and sister of Nokwanda\'s – Bongani Mlambo (28) and Sephumle Booi (23) – appeared in court last week. Mlambo, an official at the provincial Social Development Department, faces a charge of murder and Booi, an employee at a clothing design business, faces a charge of accessory after the fact to murder. – News24

* India’s Supreme Court has handed down a ruling in a public interest lawsuit, banning loud music, firecrackers and car horns at night. – The Independent * A Port Elizabeth court has jailed businessmen Velile Nelson Tom (38) and Ayanda Mtyopo (32) to four years in jail after finding them guilty on 24 counts of fraud involving making false claims to the tax man. – The Herald * United Democratic Movement leader Bantu Holomisa is expected to appear in a maintenance court on August 5 to face charges of not paying enough support for a child he fathered. Dr Gabaza Ngobeni, the child\'s mother, was demanding R5 872 a month. She said the R1 000 Holomisa had been paying was not enough. – Sunday Sun
