Court told of parents\' torment

Publish date: 07 April 2006

Category: In Court

Firoz Kader, accused of murdering siblings James and Kate Wilmot on New Year’s morning in 1999, had tormented their bereaved parents by telephoning them, State Advocate Dorian Paver said in the Pietermaritzburg High Court yesterday.

According to a report in The Mercury, Paver said Kader had made considerable efforts to find the phone number of Laurie and Isobel Wilmot in Uitenhage and had given then a false name. ‘You phoned them to torment them. Were you not indulging yourself in their pain at the loss of their only children? You tormented them as you tormented others. Why not leave them alone in their anguish?’ Paver asked. The case continues.
