*The Stellenbosch Magistrates’ Court yesterday threw out a restoration claim by informal traders whose business structures had been illegally demolished by the municipality. The claim was a sequel to the illegal demolition in July of unauthorised trading structures at the Kayamandi informal settlement. – Business Day

* Zimbabwe police have charged and released 49 women protesters after holding them for two days for organising an illegal demonstration outside parliament, their lawyer said yesterday.
