Court postpones attachment order against Max Mamase and wife

The Bhisho High Court has postponed to September 15 the finalisation of the Scorpions interim order to attach more than R16m in assets belonging to former MECs Max Mamase and his wife Neo Moerane-Mamase.

The postponement will give the Mamases time to file documents opposing the order, says a Daily Dispatch report. The assets were frozen a month ago after the couple was charged in March, together with Cape Town businessman Norman Benjamin and his accountant, Emilia Peneva, under the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act in connection with a development known as the Kangela Project.
