Tembisa police constable Kwena Collen Mashala (28), Samuel Petros Tlhoele (30), of Pretoria, Joseph Molapo (20), of Soshanguve, Tabane Asiel Mtjakatla (33), of Tembisa, and Shadrack Rammekwane (41), of Soshanguve, appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrates\' Court on charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and the unlawful possession of firearms, says a report on the IoL site.
It is alleged that they ambushed a cash in transit vehicle on June 4 this year north of Pretoria, ramming the van off the road and taking about R50 000 in cash. During the attack Thinus van Tonder (46), who was driving by, was shot in the chest when the accused allegedly attempted to hijack him. He died a few days later. Full report on IoL site
