Three soldiers have been charged with murder over a massacre in western Cameroon, where security forces are fighting anglophone separatists. At least 10 children and three women were killed on 14 February in the village of Ngarbuh. A report on the News24 site notes that army spokesperson Cyrille Guemo said the suspects have been placed in ‘provisional detention’ in a Yaounde military prison. The military initially denied any involvement and said deaths occurred when fuel containers exploded during a crossfire between separatists and troops.
