The three British bankers who face being extradited to the US on Enron-related fraud charges have lodged an appeal in a London High Court.

David Bermingham, Giles Darby and Gary Mulgrew are accused of joining with two executives from Enron to defraud a subsidiary of Natwest bank out of millions of pounds, reports The Telegraph. The three men deny the charges. Last month Charles Clarke, the Home Secretary, backed a decision by a judge at Bow Street Magistrates\' Court in to extradite them. The three men are due to be sent to the US under the 2003 Extradition Act, which has been heavily criticised for allowing British courts to extradite without properly testing US prosecutors\' evidence.
