Correctional Services Minister Ngconde Balfour will sue e.tv for trespassing and invasion of privacy, following a tv crew’s entry into his house ‘without his knowledge and permission’ to report on a burglary, spokesperson Luphumzo Kebeni said yesterday.

‘The e.tv news footage, juxtaposed with malicious comments, publicly displayed details of the Minister\'s house interior.’ According to a report on the IoL site, Kebeni said the news report also misled the public by claiming that one of the men involved in the burglary was recently released from prison through the Minister\'s special remission of sentence. ‘There is no basis for this as the criminal investigation by police is still under way.’ The television station said it stood by its report on security at Balfour\'s home, adding it believed the report was in the public interest. ‘The e.News expose was an honest attempt to test security at the ministerial complex,’ e.tv said.
