Alvarez and Marcell (A&M), the Dubai firm engaged by the Botswana Government, has red flagged 30 entities for forensic audit, reports Mmegionline. This was disclosed by President Duma Boko at the launch of the operational start of the probe. Boko said the first phase of the forensic audit, which is being conducted in three phases, has been completed. The forensic audit will investigate, assess and identify corruption, fraud and embezzlement risks across government ministries, government departments, state-owned enterprises, regulatory, as well as oversight bodies. The President further stated that the first phase entailed a rigorous process of risk profiling of these entities. ‘The project team determined the 30 audits to be conducted as agreed with the A&M team. Boko added that the project team advised him that they are at a stage where it has become necessary to invite members of the public to come forward and provide any information that they may have on corrupt practices, fraud or any embezzlement of public resources.
