Attorneys to help at Master’s Offices

The president of the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society, Praveen Sham, said a teleconference had been held this week with the heads of estates, and that one of the biggest concerns was that a large number of people wanted assistance. ‘We are seeing a lot of people wanting money from the Guardians’ Fund to pay for school uniforms and school fees, and they are not being attended to’, he said. In Pietermartizburg, Anthony Jenkins, counsellor of the KZN Law Society and Chairman of the Pietermaritzburg Attorneys’ Association, said they had put together a contingency plan to offer additional staff to the offices to help clear the backlogs.
