* A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Johannesburg student Leigh Matthews, according to a police spokesperson. The man is said to be co-operating with detectives, and is expected to appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday). – IoL

* MasterCard and Visa no longer can block banks from issuing credit cards from competitors after the US Supreme Court declined to hear their appeal yesterday. Banks that issued MasterCard and Visa credit cards had been barred from also offering credit cards from other companies. – Finance24 * The Competition Tribunal hearing into SAA practices was delayed again yesterday after the airline’s CE, Andre Viljoen, who is under cross examination, failed to appear due to being delayed in Mozambique.
