Tshefogatso Moremane, Margaret Koaile, Portia Mmola, Gontse Tlhoele and Dakalo Mbedzi were back in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court court last week to seek bail in the case in which they are accused of killing Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini's son, Prince Lethukuthula Zulu. As Mmola and her co-accused were taken to the cells after their bail application, she looked at Zulu’s family members and apologised, notes a TimesLIVE report. During proceedings, prosecutor Yusuf Baba read out an affidavit by investigating officer Sergeant Mokwena Mojapelo, who said Moremane was charged with assault GBH in a previous matter and there was a prima face case against her. According to Mojapelo, she admitted in her warning statement that she took R700 and a microwave from Zulu’s flat. Koaile, according to Mojapelo, lied when she said she had no previous convictions, as a police investigation revealed she was convicted of robbery in 2002 and sentenced to six months in prison. It also emerged that Koaile was previously charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Fingerprints also linked her to a case in Lephalale, Limpopo. Mmola, Mojapelo said, confessed that she and her co-accused had sleeping pills on them on the night they met Zulu, with Moremane indicating that she had given Zulu five tablets, while Mmola had given Zulu’s friend two. Mojapelo said no drugs were found on the premises, but that Koaile was found with eight tablets in her possession when she was arrested. In their affidavits the accused said Zulu had used cocaine. Judgment in the bail application will be delivered on Monday.
