Two men believed to have been hired to kill two ‘problematic farm dwellers’ in 2004 made a brief appearance in the Howick Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Deceased Trevor Ndlovu (57) and Petrus Masango were killed in June and October 2004, notes a report in The Witness. The same modus operandi was used during the two killings and the motives are suspected to be related. The first accused, Themba Lucky Mlangeni (33), and the fourth accused, Themba Ezekiel Zandamela (27), were arrested following almost two years of investigation by the Midlands Detective Services. Both men worked for Mapogo security company at the time of the murders and at the time of their arrests. Refusing them bail, Magistrate Nhlanhla Mpanza postponed the matter to July 19 pending further investigation. Full report in The Witness
