Authorities in Cape Town have clamped down on a mother and daughter duo for running brothels at three residential properties in Wynberg and Claremont, says a Cape Times report.

Selina Salie (42) and her daughter Nicole Fernandez (24) were arrested in June 2010 when the police swooped in on their alleged brothels. Now the Asset Forfeiture Unit has succeeded in securing a court order to attach the two women's properties and vehicles, including two homes in Wynberg and another in Mitchells Plain. The Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions said Salie had made a statement to the police in which she acknowledged that she had five women working at each of the brothels. Salie and her daughter face 15 charges in the Khayelitsha Regional Court in connection with the three brothels. Full Cape Times report
