Positivity can transform the workplace, according to a professor at Binghamton University, State University of New York. Nina Flanagan, clinical professor of nursing and programme coordinator of the Adult-Gerontological Nursing Programme at Binghamton University's Decker School of Nursing, in researching the topic of positivity in the workplace, discovered that a positive mindset is vital for maintaining a productive and enjoyable work environment. ‘It's easy to be negative,’ she said. ‘It's much harder to go against the grain and be healthy, and positive, and look at things in a positive light.’ Flanagan said it was imperative for people to alter their perspectives.
