Zwayi Mnqojana dies

* Academic and former PAC leader, Advocate Zwayi Mnqojana (69) – a former head of the law department at Unitra (now Walter Sisulu University) – has died at Frere hospital. He was an elite special force member of the PAC’s military wing, Apla, having undergone advanced training in Libya. He was exiled for 18 years in Zambia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Tanzania after skipping the country in 1975. Mnqojana returned in 1992 and worked at Unitra as a part-time law lecturer. He rose through the ranks to become acting dean of the law faculty, was head of the law department and also headed the Unitra Law Clinic. He was also one of the founding members of the Black Lawyers Association.
