Trade, Industry & Competition Minister Parks Tau says Pretoria will use the upcoming African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa) Summit in Washington to engage US lawmakers on the intention to review bilateral ties with SA. News24 reports that Tau made the revelation on Saturday during a two-day Cabinet lekgotla at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria. Tau will this week lead a high-level delegation to the US to continue explaining Pretoria's position on a wide range of issues. According to the Office of the US Trade Representatives, the 21st US Sub-Saharan Africa Trade and Economic Co-operation Forum (Agoa Forum) is expected to take place in Washington DC, from 24 to 26 July. The newly appointed Minister said he was confident that SA would be able to iron out any issues during the meeting with its second-largest trade partner.
