SA's Ratsoma replaces Maasdop at NDB

SA's National Treasury last week announced that Monale Ratsoma has been appointed vice-president and CFO at the New Development Bank (NDB), also known as the Brics bank. Fin24 reports that Ratsoma assumes his responsibilities at the Shanghai-based lender with immediate effect, succeeding Leslie Maasdorp who served in the positions from 2015. ‘The appointment marks an important milestone in SA's goal to deepen the NDB's relationship with the country, as well as fellow Brics members and other t week emerging and Global South countries,’ Treasury said in a statement. Ratsoma served as DG of the NDB Africa Regional Centre since 2018, as well as holding senior positions at the National Treasury: Deputy DG for economic policy and as acting deputy DG of international and regional economic policy.
