The Sofala Provincial Court in Beira has sentenced three men to 30 years' imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Portuguese businesswoman Ines Bota. A report on the allAfrica site notes that Maite, Danilo Lampião and Isaías Nicolau confessed to the crime, but only Maite and Lampiao were in court to hear the verdict and sentence. They then decided to kill her because she knew Nicolau who was her personal trainer. The killers threw her into a river where she drowned.
