A man believed to be the mastermind behind the US$4.1m ATM heist at a bank in Nairobi in September has been shot dead by police in an ambush. Police confirmed that Wycliff Oduor was shot by detectives in the Kayole Junction area. They were responding to a 'public distress call' when they opened fire on a gang of three suspects. 'The other two escaped on a motorbike but are being pursued,' the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said in a tweet. A report on the CapitalFM site notes that Oduor was out on bail when he was killed.
