Pop star investigated over friend's death

Nigerian pop star Davido has been questioned twice by police over the suspicious death of a friend. Following a night of heavy drinking on 2 October, Tagbo Umeike, who reportedly had 40 shots of tequila, was dropped off at Lagos Island General Hospital. A report on The Citizen site notes that his girlfriend Caroline Danjuma, an actress in Nigeria’s film industry, accused Davido of abandoning his friend. Lagos police spokesperson Imohimi Edgal said Davido’s driver 'took the deceased to the hospital and abandoned him in his vehicle'. 'The interim autopsy report stated that the victim died of asphyxia,' he added. David is a household name in Nigeria and he has 2.8m Twitter followers.
