A 23-year-old woman has been found guilty by a Kampala court after she staged her own kidnapping to test her husband's love for her. The Monitor reports that Aminah Mirembe was charged with one count of giving false information to police about her kidnapping on 26 May. Prosecutor, Lydia Batiibwe asked the court to hand down a severe sentence, asserting that cases of self-kidnap were on the increase. Magistrate Patrick Talisuna sentenced her to one year in jail or an $80 fine.
