Former Rwanda presidential candidate Diane Rwigara is denying charges of insurrection and forgery that she says are linked to her criticism of the government's human rights record. A report on the Today site notes that Rwigara, who last week appeared in a Kigali court, said she was being prevented from accessing her case file. 'I plead not guilty to all charges,' she said, adding that she has been unable to access her lawyer since her 30 August arrest on tax evasion allegations related to her family’s tobacco company. The report notes that she was disqualified from running in the August election which was comfortably won by President Paul Kagame.
