Sacked parliamentary official to go to CCMA

Parliament\'s axed chief financial officer, Harry Charlton, is to approach the CCMA in a bid to try to resolve the matter of his dismissal, failing which he would go to court, his lawyer, John MacRobert, told The Sunday Independent.

MacRobert said Charlton had defences for all the charges levelled against him, but the man who played a key role in the Travelgate probe continued to insist he was singled out for disciplinary proceedings because of discomfort in some quarters with his role in revealing fraud and trying to recoup money owed to Parliament. MacRobert said more about the alleged multimillion-rand fraud would come out in the course of his client\'s battle to clear his reputation. Full report in The Sunday Independent
