Two sentenced for anti-black terror conspiracy

Two Phalaborwa men have been sentenced for planned terrorism activities aimed at black people, Beeld reports.

George Kiratzidis (21) was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit terrorism, among other charges. Marthinus Vorster (21) was sentenced to five years imprisonment. Judge Abram Ledwaba also refused their applications for leave to appeal. The men were arrested in 2010 and police confiscated pipe bombs, semi-automatic guns and ammunition. They conspired to plant bombs at the homes of black people, ANC buildings, public transport hotspots and government buildings. They also desecrated the grave of former SA ambassador Norman Mashabane.
