Teasers boss not tested for gun residue, court told

The Cape Times says Jackson, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering street child Xolani Zodwana (17) outside the strip club on May 16 2004, told the court that police did not test him for gun residue on his hands after the child was shot dead. Jackson has pleaded not guilty to murdering Zodwana, and to charges of pointing a firearm and handling one while under the influence of alcohol. He said police threatened to keep him in jail if he did not hand the firearm over, but he had told them the gun had been stolen from his car on the night of the killing. He had also told them he had not shot anyone. He later told police he had thrown the gun into the sea because he feared they would keep him in jail. He testified that on the night of the shooting his car outside the club had been broken into and his gun and cellphone were missing. He said two employees had assaulted one of the street children, but denied he was involved. Full Cape Times report
