SA short of R13bn for land reform, and other brief reports

* An estimated R13bn will have to be spent by the government to complete land restitution in SA, Agriculture Minister Thoko Didiza said yesterday. – IoL

* At least 90 000 foreign nationals have applied for refugee status in SA, Parliament\'s Home Affairs Committee heard yesterday. Most of them came from the Great Lakes region, Somalia, Ethiopia and some from Eritrea, with a few from Sudan, Liberia and Angola. Others came from Zimbabwe and Mozambique, said Bemma Donkoh, a regional envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. – News24 * The dispute between Ollie le Roux and the KZN Sharks concerning Le Roux\'s claim that he was unfairly dismissed has been settled by the parties. It was settled on the basis that the Sharks will give Le Roux a benefit year.
